Dr. Mary Rogevich
Dr. Mary Rogevich is a New York State Licensed Psychologist and Certified School Psychologist. She earned her doctorate degree from Columbia University. Her dissertation (which was awarded an honor of distinction) explored the impact of academic interventions on children with ADHD and behavioral disorders. Prior to earning her Ph.D. she earned M.Ed and M.Phil. degrees from Columbia University in School Psychology. Dr. Rogevich completed her APA Accredited Clinical Psychology Internship at mercyFirst, where she received extensive training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with academic, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. She then worked as a psychologist in an elementary school for 9 years, where she used her extensive knowledge of child development, learning and behavior interventions, and New York State Special Education laws to develop appropriate educational programming, serve as Chairperson at hundreds of CSE meetings, and treat children and families with a wide range of presenting concerns. Dr. Rogevich also worked as a Psychologist and examiner for the ERB (Educational Records Bureau) in New York City and is able to support and advise families through all stages of the rigorous admission process for private preschools and ongoing K-12 schools in Manhattan.
One of Dr. Rogevich's areas of expertise is in the administration and interpretation of psychoeducational assessments to diagnose learning, behavioral, and emotional difficulties in children and adolescents. She has completed over 500 evaluations to date, and believes that the results of such an evaluation can be a powerful tool in understanding the unique nature of a child's struggles, and should be used to drive instruction and develop individualized interventions. Dr. Rogevich developed and taught a course for graduate students at Teachers College, Columbia University on the use of standardized assessment measures in diagnosing Learning and Attentional Disabilities in children.
Dr. Rogevich provides individual, family, and group therapy for children and adolescents who are experiencing a wide range of emotional and behavioral difficulties. She has treated children with Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, School Refusal, Selective Mutism, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder, to name just a few. One of Dr. Rogevich's areas of expertise is treating children and adolescents with ADHD, and developing and implementing research-based behavioral interventions in both home and school environments to increase time on task and decrease externalizing behaviors.
